Choirs and Workshops

My choirs and workshops are run in accordance with the principles of the Natural Voice Network which are that singing is innate, it is our birth-right, and groups should be inclusive with no auditions. I recently attended the NVN Voice Leader Training week long course with Sarah Harman and Frankie Armstrong, kindly supported by The Sarah Morgan Foundation http://www.sarahmorganfoundation.org

The Sarah Morgan Foundation was founded in 2013 to honour the memory and continue the work of inspirational choir leader and musician Dr Sarah Morgan – fostering and developing the community choir and promoting English traditional/folk song.

This term Frome Folk Singers are singing shanties and traditional folk songs from the British Isles, all songs are taught by ear, in beautiful harmonies, with the words provided. There are no auditions and the group is a relaxed friendly environment with an emphasis on singing for joy. The choir is currently full, but spaces do become available, and there will be more spaces after Easter, please contact us if you would like to join (thedarlingfolkcollective@gmail.com).

Hallr Folk Choir takes place in a beautiful woodland in Somerset, near Somerton. This term we are singing shanties and traditional folk songs from the British Isles. This is an unusual opportunity to sing in the woods in a lovely open sided shelter around a charcoal brazier, or just outside beneath the trees when the weather is good. Please contact us (thedarlingfolkcollective@gmail.com) if you would like to come so we know to expect you! You will need warm clothes and a warm heart!
